Slapstick comedy, The Three Stooges


The Three Stooges was the dramatization of the lives of the famous comedy team. They performed at Columbia Studios . The stooges members were Moe Howard, Larry Fine and Curly Howard

Moses “Moe” Howard was born on June 19, 1897 in Bensonhurst New York. He graduated from P.S. 163 but never completed his high school education. He loves the theater since then. His first awarded entry was in 1909 for film making. He met Ted Healy in 1909 and became close friends, in 1922, they formed a partnership together with his brother Shemp that lasted for a decade.

Larry Fine was born on October 5, 1902 on the South side of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When he was still a child his left arm was injured due to acid burned by his father in the jewelry business. The doctors recommended violin lessons to strengthen his damaged arm muscles. He became an expert and eventually performed professionally. He was also a boxer and even earned money for being one. After 1958 Larry, Moe and Curl Joe performed live all over the country. They appeared in six motion pictures, numerous television shows and performed in other productions. Until Larry got stroked in 1970 during the filming of Kook's Tour in 1970 and passed away on January 24, 1975.

Jerome Lester Horwitz or Curly Howard was born on October 22, 1903 in Bath Beach. He was known as 'Babe”. He joined the group but also agreed to shaved off his mustache and head. Later in 1934 along with Larry and Moe performed in many of the shorts that were produced by Columbia Pictures. His health worsen in 1949, he suffered second series of strokes and died on January 18, 1952.

Other Stooges who replaces the others were Shemp Howard, Joe Besser and Curly Joe Derita.
