The title of the show was made by Kathie Broyles which combined the original title of the show which was originally Thirty Something. It was considered as a dramedy series due to the mix of drama and comedy genre.

The TV series was about different love scenarios which starts with the married couple Hope and Michael who struggles with their married life. Despite the fact that no one else likes her, Gary marries Susannah when they have a baby, Emma. Gary dies during the last season in a traffic accident, just as Nancy recovers from cancer (Gary later visits Michael as a ghost, or at least Michael imagines that he does). After Gary's death, Susannah moves away with Emma and Miles Drentell (David Clennon): Michael and Elliot's boss at DAA.
