The Muppet Show at its finest


The Muppet show features the casts of the famous TV series The Muppets. It was produced by Jim Henson together with his team in the year 1976 and lasted until 1981. It was a combination of comedy, family and musical genre. It also features Kermit the frog of Sesame Street, as he way a happy and playful character here. He is trying to control his temper for the other Muppet characters. The Muppet show was a music hall style sing and dance variety show.

Each episode featured a human guest star. The TV show perform highly physical and most of the time comedic for using its puppets. Many famous actors and actresses were eager to perform with the muppets on the show. Some of them were as follows. Twiggy, Sandy Duncan, Julie Andrews, Steve Martin, characters from the Star Wars, Mummenschanz, Diana Ross, Ethel Merman, Paul Simon, John Denver, John Cleese, Gene Kelly, Alice Cooper and many more.

The muppet performers of the show were Jim Henson, Frank Oz, Jerry Nelson, Richard Hunt, Dave Goelz, Steve Whitmire, Lousie Gold, Kathy Mullen, Eren Ozker and John Lovelady. The show revolves on the life of the muppets. As Kermit the frog is the manager of a cabaret style theater house. He has to deal with wanna be comedian vears, Miss Piggy, homicidal chefs and others.

The Muppet movie was also released into the big screens. It was the first film that features the Muppets as they interact to the real world and human beings. Other films were also released such as, The Great Muppet Caper, The Muppets Take Manhattan, Muppet Treasure Island, Muppets from space, The Muppets Christmas Carol and a Muppet remake of the Wizard of Oz.

The first 10 episodes of the TV series was aired on ABC network and the rest was on Disney Channel.
